Xiaomi Mi CC 9 to have 32 MP selfie camera with advanced Beauty mode Xiaomi is launching its new smartphone series called CC on July 2 when the Xiaomi CC9 smartphone is expected to debut. Specs of the device are still scarce, but the company revealed on Weibo it will have a 32 MP selfie shooter with improved Beauty mode. The post says the camera will “restore the natural skin texture” and will “record the beauty of each moment”, which might sound tacky, but that is simply marketing talk about the new advanced filters that Lei Jun was talking about earlier this month. We are still waiting for specs like the chipset and the battery, but with 7 days to the launch, Xiaomi might decide to tease the Mi CC 9 little by little. Huawei reportedly looking to turn to Russia’s Avrora OS as Android’s replacement Chinese technology giant Huawei will reportedly begin discussions this summer with officials at Russia’s communications ministry in a bid to determine if it could use Russia’s Avrova (Aurora) operating system. This was disclosed on Friday by RIA news agency which cited a Russian deputy communications minister as saying. This is against the backdrop of reports that Huawei is already in an advanced stage of deploying its own HongMeng OS (ArkOS). The moves are all aimed at mitigating the effect of the US trade ban on the company will when effective, will prevent all US companies from selling US technology to Huawei. Redmi K20 kernel source code released After releasing the kernel source code for the K20 Pro last week, Redmi has now released the kernel source for the vanilla K20 as well, which will let the developers build custom ROMs for the smartphone. Pocophone F1 64GB variant gets another price cut in India The  Pocophone F1  64GB variant has gotten a second  price cut  in India. It was  launched  at INR20,999 ($300/€265) last August and was down to INR19,999 ($290/€250) in December. With this latest price drop, it now costs INR17,999 ($260/€230). You can buy the Pocophone F1 64GB model at a reduced price from Mi.com and Flipkart, but it's currently unclear if this is a permanent price cut. That said, the 128GB and 256GB versions of the Pocophone F1 are sold at INR20,999 ($300/€265) and INR27,999 ($400/€350) respectively, with the Armoured Edition carrying a price tag of INR28,999 ($415/€365).
